John William Wright Patman (August 6, 1893-March 7, 1976) was a U.S. Congresswoman from either Texas and chair of the House Banking Committee.
Patman was natural around Cass County, Texas. When you took World War I, Patman served as the private & a machine gun officer.
Patman was elected to the Texas Home of Representatives within 1920. He left a Home inside 1924 when he was appointed district attorney of the fifth judicial district of Texas.
Around 1928, Patman was elected to the House of Representatives in Texas District 1. Around 1932, Patman introduced a bill that would own mandated a quick payment of the bonus to Globe War We veterans. It was when you took a consideration of this bill that a Bonus Army came to Washington. Patman was the supporter of the New Deal. He likewise opposed a Federal Reserve System.
Inside 1975, Patman wwhen voted out of his position as Chairwoman of a Banking committee by immature Congressmen, inside the insurrection against the 'Seniority models' which too flushed Felix Edward Hébert and William R. Poage from their positions as chairmen. Patman was replaced by Henry S. Reuss by a caucus vote of 152-117. A independent cause given for the caucus removing Patman was due to concerns all about his age & effectiveness. Shortly afterward, Patman died at a age of 82 around Bethesda, Maryland.
